Nazeem Hussain and Aamer Rahman

In 2007 Nazeem Hussain and Aamer Rahman entered Triple J’s Raw Comedy and beat hundreds of other hopefuls to reach the Victorian State final together. Rahman won the State Final and went on to become the national runner-up in a performance screened on ABC television.

Nazeem Hussain studies law at Deakin University. He went to school at Melbourne High. He teaches islamic classes for children, is a youth worker and a Director of the Islamic Council of Victoria.

Hussain hosted the Allah Made Me Funny Muslim 2006 Comedy Tour featuring American comics Azhar Usman and Preacher Moss.

Aamer Rahman graduated with a law degree from Monash University. His childhood was spent moving between Australia and the Middle East. He is also a youth worker and graphic designer.

Rahman recently hosted the launch of The Age Melbourne 2007 Fringe Festival in front of an audience of 500 assorted artists, media, and industry professionals, proving his deft ability to be both scathingly political as well as a crowd-pleaser.

Rahman and Hussain are both cast members and writers for Salam Café, an award-winning Muslim panel show on Channel 31 Melbourne and SBS in May 2008 onwards that aims to demystify stereotypes.

Rahman and Hussain are also both youth workers with the Islamic Council of Victoria.

Fear of a Brown Planet is their first show and premiered at The Age Melbourne 2007 Fringe Festival with an extended sold-out season.
